It has been noted that there are a lot of "FreeWomen" appearing on
Gor as of late. Yet, the majority of these women know not what their veils represent or why they wear the robes of concealment.
It should be noted early on, that many say they are "FreeWomen" yet neuter themselves into a half man and half woman. I would
address this to those who are considering what "FreeWomen" are, and what makes them "FreeWomen of Gor. There has been much confusion as of late, as to whether a woman who
kneels when she joins a tavern or an Inn, is slave or Free. Most of the Ops know the history, or at least a version of FreeWomen,
and know they kneel. But there are always those who question if the FreeWoman is hiding a slave heart because they kneel.
If you believe that only slaves kneel, you have not been in the presence of a true "FreeWoman". There is no mistaking her
veils and robes for the simple wear of a slave. Nor is there a mistake of her station. As a FreeWoman, it is our duty to be pleasing. We are taught the
ways of pleasure, the art of walking, standing, and being beautiful. Kneeling is one of the ways we exude our womanhood, and
show that we understand the difference between men and ourselves. It is also my personal thought, that a true FreeWoman does
not simply rise and leave, she asks....not for permission to leave, but for the rest to notice that she is going. There is
a rather big difference . FreeWomen are also the consummate Hostesses, even when visiting. She will offer to serve the men,
if no slaves are available. So....she is woman, she is feminine, and she serves, yet she is Free. Now, that should have raised
eyebrows of those that consider themselves free, yet reject being feminine. I would quote to you from Nomads of Gor about
FreeWomen: "The Gorean girl is, even if free, accustomed to slavery;...she knows that she is weaker than men and what this
can mean; she knows that cities fall, and caravans are plundered; she knows she might even, by a sufficiently bold warrior,
be captured in her own quarters;...the Gorean girl is literally educated, fortunately or not, to the notion that it is of
great importance to know how to please men, accordingly, even girls who will be free companions, and never slaves, learn the
preparation and serving of exotic dishes, the arts of walking, and standing, and being beautiful, the care of a man's equipment,
the love dances of their city, and so on..." There is really no question as to what is found pleasing to men.
It is the beauty, the grace, the intelligence and the wit that they find in women. These things can be found in both FreeWomen
and slaves, but a FreeWoman can relish her freedom as the slave relishes her servitude. They both have stations on Gor, and
much in common, but the FreeWoman will always hold station under the men, and above the slaves. A FreeWoman of Gor, is first
noticed, by her robes of concealment, and her veils. It has been said that a FreeWoman can be stripped of all her robes, but
left her veils, and she is merely undressed. But if she is stripped of her veils, and left with all her clothes, then she
is truly naked. It is a horrifying experience for her...And not one that her family is likely to forget. For, in truth, it
is her veils that set her aside totally from the slaves. Her beauty is hidden, only available for her free companion, while
a slaves beauty is open for all to admire. Both come with a price. The slaves price is measured by her worth on a block, or
in private sale. The FreeWomans beauty and talents are measured by the dowry she brings to her family, as she is to be taken
as a Free Companion. Her value is set much deeper than on her potential to please. There are truly very few "FreeWoman" on
Gor. It has always been my contention, that if you come across a free woman, who wears not the veils or the robes, and sits
on her butt like the men, you may have come across a once beautiful woman, who now neuters herself into something other than
pleasing. It is my hope, that the true FreeWomen who are still on Gor, will be recognized for who and what they are, and what
that represents to the society of Gor. ~ Renaria ~ |

A free woman is inordinately precious. She is a thousand times, and more, above
a mere slave." ~Players of Gor, page 92~ "A free woman may often make a man angry with impunity, she being lofty and free,
this latitude is seldom extended to the slave." ~Blood Brothers of Gor, p.221~ "The Goreans claim that in each woman there is a free companion, proud and beautiful,
worthy and noble, and in each, too, a slave girl. The companion seeks for her companion; the slave girl for her master." (Hunters
of Gor, Page 102) "On Gor, it is the men who will be men, and it is the women
who will be women." |
